Deleting your account and your data
Last updated: 12 August 2026. Bound By Moments Limited.
You can delete your Bound by Moments account, and the personal information we hold about you, at any time. This page explains how to do it yourself in the app, how to ask us to do it for you, what gets deleted, and the small number of records we are required to keep.
Delete your account in the app
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect straight away.
- (a) Open the Bound by Moments app and sign in.
- (b) On the Home screen, tap your profile circle in the top right corner.
- (c) Choose Settings.
- (d) Under "Delete account", tap "Delete my account and all data".
- (e) Confirm when we ask you to. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Ask us to delete your account
If you no longer have the app installed, or you would rather we did it for you, email [email protected] from the email address your account is registered to and tell us you want your account deleted. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act. We will respond within 20 working days, as required by the Privacy Act 2020, and in practice we deal with these much sooner.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove your photos. In the app, any book you have not yet ordered can be discarded from the Home screen, which permanently deletes that book together with every photo in it and every colouring page made from it.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- (a) Every photo you uploaded, and every colouring page generated from those photos.
- (b) Your books, including their titles and any text you added to a page.
- (c) Your account, your sign-in details and your profile.
- (d) Your saved delivery address and phone number.
- (e) Any photo you sent us to support a problem report or a refund request.
Photos are erased from our file storage, not simply hidden from view.
What we have to keep
A small number of records survive the deletion, in a form that is no longer linked to you:
- (a) The financial record of any order you placed, meaning what was bought, when, and for how much, with your name, email address, delivery address and phone number erased from it. New Zealand tax law requires business records to be kept for seven years.
- (b) De-identified content safety scores, held without the image they came from and without any link back to you.
- (c) Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own record of the payment. That record is outside our control, and we never hold your full card number.
When we cannot delete
If an image in an account is ever placed under a legal hold, we are required by law to preserve it rather than delete it. We hope this never happens. While a hold is in place, the app will tell you the deletion cannot proceed at the moment and ask you to contact us. We will explain what we are able to, and delete the account once the matter is resolved.
For the fuller picture of what we collect and how long we keep it, see our Privacy Policy.
